Nigeria’s foremost talent hunt competition for indigenous music, Ariya Repete, returns with yet another edition. Announced on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, this year’s edition is tagged Ariya Repete – Omoluabi Special.
Initially conceptualized as a platform for budding Fuji artists, called Fuji to Bam, the showpiece quickly evolved to a spectacle for more indigenous genres, including Juju music and Yoruba Hip-pop and was on TV last year as a reality talent show.
Ariya Repete – Omoluabi Special, the eighth edition of the music competition, will celebrate amazing indigenous talents from southwestern Nigeria. Interested participants are to enter for auditions by recording and posting a short video of themselves singing with the hashtag, #AriyaRepete2020.
Sponsored by Goldberg Lager, Ariya Repete is a music platform that has rewarded and empowered multiple participants. Previous editions have featured performances by A-list Yoruba music acts such as King Sunny Ade, K1 D Ultimate, Sir Shina Peters, Alhaji Alabi Pasuma, Olamide.
This year’s edition will engage Nigerian A-list stars and Goldberg ambassadors, Olamide and Odunlade Adekola. The contestants will be judged by some of the most respected acts in the music industry including and fans will be able to join in the elimination of contestants every week.
The competition will be broadcasted on TV from November 22, 2020, with exciting episodes to be aired every Sunday at 8 pm on Soundcity TV and ONTV and a grand prize of N3 Million for the winners.
